Think about Death

Edward's Resolutions:
"6. Resolved, to live with all my might, while I do live."
"9. Resolved, to think much on all occasions of my own dying, and of the common circumstances which attend death.
"10. Resolved, when I feel pain, to think of the pains of martyrdom and of hell."
"17. Resolved, that I will live so as I shall wish I had done when I come to die."
Rule of St. Benedict (480-550):
"44. To fear the day of judgment"
"47. To keep death daily before one's eyes."

"Death is swallowed up in victory." "O death, where is your victory? O death, where is your sting?" The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ." (1 Cor 15)
